Here goes nothing...

So, I'm not the best writer...but I figured a blog would be a great place for me to get things off my chest.

Today's post will be short and sweet because I want to get used to the format.

Quickly, I want to tell you about 3 friends of mine that are amazing photographers.

First, is Katie Faulkner. She is a local photographer here in Delaware. A sample of her work can be found on the left. Taffy and I had a quick session and I am amazed with the results! I have to say, I'm a huge photography fan but that's not what I respect the most about Katie. Katie Faulkner is a CHAMPION for animals. She regularly takes pictures of animals available for adoption at local rescues. She portrays these dogs beautifully. She captures their desires to be loved, their hope that someone out there is waiting just for them, and sometimes she captures such desperation it just tears at your heart. Please check out her work at http://smile4katie.com/ and http://furrbutts.com/ Tell her I sent ya!

Second, I want to tell you about my friend Jonah W.B. Myers. We met as Resident Assistants (RAs) at West Virginia University. Wow, that was "many moons ago." He actually took some shots of me when we were students. I've had the pleasure of watching is talent develop over the years. He is simply amazing. Right now he works in the newspaper industry in WV. He'd like to relocate to Maryland. I'm guessing anywhere from Baltimore, DC, or even the Eastern Shore. It seems there is a special lady he is missing. I'd like to be selfish and say I'd love for him to find a job out here because he'd be closer to me and I really miss my friend! BUT - he's an amazing talent and he deserves opportunities and I truly believe the sky is the limit for him. He'd be closer to his girlfriend and I'd have a friend that has made me laugh through the most difficult of times SO CLOSE! Please let me know if you hear of any opportunities that would nurture his talent. I know he'd appreciate it and I definitely would. Check out his work at http://www.jonahwbmyers.com/ . I have his resume' that I can pass along.

Last, but certainly NOT least, is one of my very best friends Michele Godwin. Michele is newer to the world of photography but her talent is tremendous. I recently hired her to take pictures of another dear friend's wedding and I'm so impressed with what I've seen so far. My friend Alyssa, wasn't going to have a photographer so I immediately called on Michele. Alyssa looked so beautiful and I am so glad Michele was there to capture the big day. Michele is in the process of starting her business. She's done some great shots for people I know, and also my entire family's Christmas pictures. Feel free to contact her at luv2proofuwrong@verizon.net for more information. Check out the firetruck photo - a sample of her work.

Well, I guess that's about it for now. I'm going to mess around with this and see how I like it. I probably won't update much - midterm on Monday. In the meantime, stay warm and thanks for checking out my page!
